Iowa’s minor league baseball team affiliated with the Chicago Cubs. Established as the Iowa Oaks in 1969, they switched over in 1982 and have been the Iowa Cubs ever since. As a Triple-A East team, the Iowa Cubs fall only one grade below Major League Baseball. Enjoy this classic American sport at Principal Park with all the essential fixins: bleachers, popcorn, hot dogs — play ball!

Iowa’s professional indoor football team, the Barnstormers are wrapping up their 2022 season with new head coach Dave Mogensen, former assistant general manager for the Albany Empire. The final home game is July 2 at “The Well.” Check website for full game schedule.

Iowa’s semi-professional soccer league and current champions of United Soccer League (USL) League Two, the fourth tier of the American soccer pyramid. The Des Moines Menace soccer team is considered one of the nation’s top amateur soccer organizations. The team returns after a historic 2021 season.
