BOWLING
Whether you strive to score a perfect game or have to use the gutter bumpers and one of those ramps — we’re not judging — here are nine bowling alleys in the area:

Climb Iowa is the state’s largest indoor climbing and training gym. The Grimes location offers walls up to 37.5 feet tall and 200 routes and problems. The Des Moines location in the East Village is a bouldering-only facility with more than 80 problems for climbers to explore.

Skating is cool again — haven’t you heard? Check websites for special events like adult night, half-price admission, skate school, roller derbies and more.

Hop on the pickleball bandwagon and reserve one of the four indoor courts at Smash Park. Paddles and balls are included in court reservations. Smash Park also offers pickleball leagues, clinics, lessons and tournaments, plus indoor set-ups of Iowa’s beloved sport: bags (or cornhole — let the debate begin).

Whether you like dodgeball, basketball or just plain old jumping up and down, trampoline parks abound in the Des Moines metro. It’s a hopping good time!
